Tada! New illustration, and a not-so-sketchy traditional one at that

This started off as a random drawing of a girl in a hanbok. After doing that miku doodle this weekend and some scribbling/colour swatching with my new markers, I wanted to try colouring something more substantial. I also wanted to try some new colour combinations I discovered. At first it was just going to be the girl only, but as I kept colouring the girl, I felt a bg would be nice to have. So I just went for it. I must say it was a very fun painting. I've never painted anything remotely as finished as this with markers before, it was definitely a big learning experience. I also messed up a bit, used a bright green marker instead of a pastel one on her outfit by mistake because i r an idiot

Regardless, there's something very pleasant about rendering with markers. There's not much mess nor clean up to do afterwards like with wet mediums such as watercolour or acrylics...and unlike coloured pencils they don't take very long to fill areas with, so great for a lazy bum like me. I do love watercolours ofcourse and coloured pencils a lot too, but with colour pencils it takes a long time to cover larger areas. And I don't always have the time for that. That being said, I've been doing more coloured pencil experiments lately and I might post something if it turns out kinda okay
